Prevention of internet addiction

With the development of network information technology, the problem of internet addiction has increasingly attracted the attention of the whole society. According to different domestic studies, the "incidence" of internet addiction is 6% ~ 14%, and it is increasing year by year. Internet addiction not only harms the physical and mental health and social function of teenagers, but also affects family happiness and social stability. Nip in the bud; The prevention of internet addiction is particularly critical if the disease is not cured before it is cured. Talk about the prevention of Internet addiction from the following aspects:

  First, network knowledge education

In the information age, people’s work, study and life depend more and more on the network. Network is an all-round open mass media which integrates the advantages and disadvantages of traditional media, and it is also a huge resource pool. Therefore, skilled computer operation and rational use of network resources can greatly broaden our horizons, enrich our knowledge and make people more adaptable to this ever-changing world. Appropriate games are relaxation of intense study, and moderate chatting can also exercise people’s language expression ability. However, water can carry a boat and also overturn it. Everything has its two sides. Today, after the popularity of the Internet in China for nearly ten years, its harm is gradually recognized and paid attention to by people. Strengthen the education of network knowledge, so that teenagers can clearly understand the essence of the network: the network is not just a toy, but also a tool, and form a scientific network life habit. Just like cultivating children’s awareness of safety precautions against fire and electricity, the awareness of the dangers of the network should also be cultivated from an early age. Formulate the Code of Healthy Internet Access for teenagers of different ages, standardize the behavior of internet use, and clearly stipulate the content and time of internet access, organize students to learn and train about internet knowledge, improve their ability of collecting, analyzing and using information correctly, and provide technical support for preventing internet addiction. For example, telling teenagers how to make friends online will reduce their interpersonal skills in real life, especially for introverts, and it is easy to form a dependence on the internet.

Second, cultivate the skills to use the network correctly

Teach teenagers the skills to use the internet correctly, for example, teach them time management skills, make a reminder card for surfing the internet or use an alarm clock to time, and get off the internet in time according to the specified time; List the harm of the network on the card and put it next to the monitor to remind yourself at any time; Make plans for study and entertainment, sort them according to importance, and finish them under the supervision of family members or teachers. If you can’t control your online time by yourself, you can ask your parents to remind you or set a password for your computer.

Three, departments at all levels to strengthen the publicity of healthy Internet access.

Arouse the whole society’s attention to internet addiction, and let everyone work together to deal with this problem. By holding exhibitions and public lectures, designing leaflets, posting tips for healthy living and other methods, teenagers and their parents can understand the symptoms of Internet addiction and make a simple self-assessment, and obtain ways to deal with Internet addiction, and encourage young people in need to seek the assistance of counselors. At the same time, you can also post some propaganda slogans about healthy surfing on campus or in the community, so that people can always be vigilant.

Fourth, strengthen the construction of campus culture and implement the educational concept of "entertaining through education"

Entertaining throughout the learning process, under the banner of quality education, the teaching content and teaching methods are redesigned to make the process of seeking knowledge full of fun and suspense; Schools should set up various interest groups to encourage students to develop various interests and participate in campus groups and social activities. For example, students’ singing and dancing, painting, speaking, ball games, swimming, chess and other literary and sports activities, and summer camps (winter camps), pottery classes or psychological growth groups are held to make students’ after-school life full of vitality and colorful, so that all children’s curiosity can be satisfied and their potential can be brought into play, and they can avoid being divorced from real life and seeking satisfaction in the virtual world. Let children have some initiative and some choices to get more development in their fields of interest; Breaking the single evaluation system and "lowering talents without sticking to one pattern" will make all children full of self-confidence and sense of accomplishment and better adapt to society in the future.

Five, set up a "parent class" to train "competent parents"

Many teenagers surf the Internet because of bad family environment and education. To change children, we must first change their parents. Educate parents to learn to love their children correctly and meet their material needs in moderation, instead of simply materializing and monetizing "love"; Give children emotional warmth and understanding, and communicate with them equally and effectively, instead of just being busy with their livelihood and ignoring their emotional needs. Give children proper education on setbacks and hardships, and cultivate children’s hard-working habits and positive outlook on life. Allowing children to make mistakes and give them correct guidance, instead of blindly accusing and violently beating and cursing, these practices not only failed to solve the problem, but also made children have rebellious psychology, intensified contradictions and went further in the wrong direction. Through parents’ classroom, parents’ bad parenting style in the past can be changed, so that parents not only attach importance to their children’s "adult" education, but also attach importance to their children’s "adult" education.

Six, strengthen the standardized management of network operation.

In 2002, China promulgated the Regulations on the Administration of Internet Service Business Places, which clearly stipulated the management rules for Internet cafes and other places. Local departments of industry and commerce, public security and culture should strengthen cooperation, comprehensively manage Internet cafes, control the total number of Internet cafes, improve the layout planning of Internet cafes, resolutely close unlicensed illegal Internet cafes, and seriously investigate Internet cafes that violate the Regulations on the Administration of Internet Service Places. Strengthen the supervision of the production and operation of online games, and develop electronic game products with China cultural characteristics, healthy content and vivid plots to replace those games full of violence and pornography.

Seven, promote the construction of specialized service institutions to prevent Internet addiction.

  1. Improve the construction of school psychological counseling center, strengthen students’ mental health education, and establish professional Internet addiction treatment institutions.

  2. Strengthen the training of psychological counseling professionals, so that they can effectively master the knowledge and ability to carry out mental health work. Schools and communities timely screen the mental health status of teenagers. If teenagers are found to be addicted to the Internet, they should go to professional institutions for consultation or treatment in time. At present, there are few professional Internet addiction treatment institutions in China, and there are few mature professional Internet addiction treatment institutions such as the Youth Psychological Growth Base of Beijing Military Region General Hospital. We should hold regular training courses to train more mental health professionals to master the theoretical knowledge and treatment techniques of Internet addiction.

  3. Actively carry out basic, empirical and multidisciplinary research. With people’s concern about teenagers’ Internet addiction, many parents and teachers are eager for professional guidance. At present, there is still a lack of empirical research on the treatment of Internet addiction in China. We should actively carry out basic, empirical and multidisciplinary scientific research on Internet addiction to provide a basis for effective counseling and treatment.

In short, individuals, families, schools and society need to work together to learn to surf the Internet healthily and prevent Internet addiction. (According to Tao Ran’s speech at the theme class meeting of "Resisting the vulgarity of the Internet" jointly held by China Youth Network and Beijing Xuanwu League Committee of the Communist Youth League on March 2, 2009)
