On November 17th, Kremlin official dmitry Peskov revealed the details of the negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a reporter from VGTRK, peskov said that the negotiation was conducted in Russian through an interpreter, and that it was a very pragmatic dialogue, which was detailed and very frank, and both sides had made their respective positions clear.

Earlier, peskov mentioned that the telephone conversation between Putin and Scholz lasted for one hour, and said that the dialogue between the two politicians was positive.

On November 15th, at the initiative of Germany, Putin and Scholz had their first telephone conversation since December 2022. During the dialogue, Scholz stressed the need to start a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian issue. The two sides also agreed to maintain bilateral contacts in the future.
